Understand this, and you’ll build a loyal social following without even trying that hard…

“Zagruk akka gruuuk gruk?”

I stared at the orc (well – the gangly teenager dressed as an orc), wondering if I was about to experience the nerdiest mugging in history.

“Er…sorry mate, haven’t got a clue. Maybe Google it?”

The kid frowned, one of his prosthetic ears falling off in the process, and I watched him lurch across the Comic-Con hall to find another victim.

It was only later that I realised he was trying to sell me a magic amulet (well – a Haribo Starmix glued to a bit of tin foil).

His mistake? I don’t speak Orcish.

And therefore, he had practically zero chance of selling me anything.

This experience reminded me of two things: A) never to attend another Comic-Con B) how important it is to speak in your prospect’s language.

I don’t just mean English, Orcish, Elvish, or even something as exotic as French…

It’s more nuanced than that.

For example, “month end” has a different meaning to an accountant than anyone else…

“PPI” stands for something different depending on whether you’re into finance, construction, medicine, or that fetish where people wee on each other…

And in orc society, “Zagruk” apparently means ‘friend’. (So yeah, I feel pretty bad about that.)

So it’s important to understand – and use – the lingo your customer uses on a daily basis, if you intend to sell to them.

But that’s just the start – because there’s another, more fundamental and much more powerful way you can ‘speak their language’…

And that’s by creating your content around their ‘relatable truths’.

These are the feelings, opinions and beliefs that your audience recognises – statements that make them go, “That’s so true!” or “that’s so me!”

And it’s these relatable truths that power The Social Success Machine.

That’s the system we use to blow up our clients’ socials. Driving more engagement and sales than they’ve ever experienced.

So when you’re ready to learn the system – and ready to turn your audience into a rampaging horde of orcs, eager to get their hands on everything you sell…
